Lingoloom

Privacy Policy

Effective 1 November 2026

Lingoloom is a Mac app and the server it talks to at api.lingoloom.app, run by an independent developer (“we”). This policy says what data Lingoloom handles, why, and what you can do about it. Questions and requests: b-petr-ip@yandex.com.

Signing in with Google or Apple

When you sign in, Google or Apple tells us your account identifier and your email address (with Apple, possibly a private relay address). We keep them to recognise your account, to apply your daily allowance and to show you in the app which account you are signed in with. We do not receive or keep your password, contacts, files or any other data from your Google or Apple account.

Lingoloom's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except as required by law.

What you translate, capture and dictate

To do what you ask, the app sends the text you translate, the audio you dictate, and — only when the Mac's own text recognition cannot read a screen region — a picture of that region to our server. The server passes it on for processing and returns the result:

Our server does not store this content. OpenAI and ElevenLabs process it under their API terms and may keep it for a limited time, for example to monitor abuse. We do not use your content to train models.

What our server keeps

What stays on your Mac

Your settings, the session token (in the macOS Keychain) and your dictation history (audio and text, kept for as long as you choose in Settings) stay on your Mac and are not sent to us.

Handwriting on the iPhone keyboard

Handwriting on the Lingoloom keyboard is recognized on the iPhone by Google's ML Kit: what you draw and type stays on the device. The keyboard downloads a recognition model from Google (about 14 MB, over Wi-Fi or cellular) only when you pick a language on the handwriting pad. ML Kit sends Google diagnostics and usage statistics that include none of your text: the device model and iOS version, the app's identifier and version, a per-installation identifier, timings, events such as a model download, error codes and the handwriting languages you use. Google describes no way to turn this off.

How long and how to delete

A session ends when you sign out or after 90 days without use. Your account and its usage records are kept while you use Lingoloom. To have your account and its records deleted, write to b-petr-ip@yandex.com from the address you signed in with; we do it within 30 days. You can also remove Lingoloom's access in your Google account or Apple ID settings.

Children

Lingoloom is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date. A change that widens what we collect is announced in the app before it takes effect.
